R&D Manager Andries van Benthem

A little while ago we were pleased to welcome Andries van Benthem as R&D Manager at M-LOCKS. Time for a closer acquaintance in which would like to let Andries speak for himself.

“I am Andries van Benthem, 30 years old. I live with my girlfriend in Almelo. In 2016 I graduated from the University of Twente in mechanical engineering, and during the course of my studies I have further deepened myself in mechanics and during my career in electronics.

In my working life I did the detail engineering and commissioning of a biomass transport system in a power plant. Furthermore, I managed the engineering, production and assembly of wood drying kilns and I did the industrialization of a cooling system, including preparing the cooling system for series production. Before M-Locks, I have always worked for project organizations, which makes the product approach at M-Locks even more interesting. The world of locks and safes is completely new to me, but that makes it extra challenging and interesting!

In my spare time I regularly take the racing bike to get some fresh air. Furthermore, I have been breeding rabbits for exhibitions for 19 years now. A nice change after a day of working on R&D of products, which mainly takes place behind a screen in our office.
